Roommates

No two people are the same.

ABOUT

Strait-laced, responsible Jason and loud, messy Steven share an apartment. Jason is unable to sleep as Steven talks loudly on his phone, and then finds the apartment in shambles after leaving town for a few days.

When Steven asks to be driven to the computer repair store, Jason finally can’t take it anymore and has a heart-to-heart with Steven about boundaries. It seems that Steven understands where Jason is coming from, but when he asks, “Can you still drive me?” it becomes clear that Steven cannot really change.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

Ever since college, I’ve been living with one or more roommates. While I’ve never had any particularly bad experiences, there is sometimes tension either because I’m bothering my roommates or they are bothering me.

People have different habits and life experiences, and living with other people can be unpredictable. Roommates is a story based on my personal experience, though in an exaggerated form. In spite of this humorous exaggeration, I hope audiences will find something to relate to in the story, and may even learn something about how to get along with other people.
