ABOUT
Captain Hero is tired of his position as the local city’s hero. The job interferes with social opportunities, his relationship, and even an important family funeral. One night, after he apprehends his nemesis, Dr. Crabs, he divulges his feelings of resignation. Surprisingly, Dr. Crabs tries to lend emotional support to Captain Hero, urging him to maintain his position as the city’s hero. Over the course of the story, it becomes apparent that Dr. Crabs, himself, needs Captain Hero and that the two have unwittingly formed a bond of friendship over the years. Unfortunately, in Dr. Crabs’ efforts to convince Captain Hero to maintain his position, he inadvertently convinces Captain Hero to resign. Realizing that someone must take up the mantle as the city’s hero, Dr. Crabs rises to the occasion to fill the void.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Superheroes have a reputation of being very strong people, with grandiose actions, lives, and problems. I’ve never bought it, so when I set out to tell their stories, I wanted to flip the script and expose all the typical and trivial problems that superheroes face just like anyone else. Person-Man is just that—the story of a person, a superhero who is just a person and cannot live a normal life because of his job. It is filled with wry jokes on top of a dryly humorous storyline.

Craig Johnston was drawn to comedy from a young age, watching Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and Jim Abrahams films over and over again. At the age of 11, Craig knew he wanted to be involved in the film industry. That opportunity began in his undergraduate studies at Stevenson University, from which he graduated with a BS in Film, Video, and Theatre. He is currently pursuing a MFA in Filmmaking from Maryland Institute College of Art. Since the beginning of his filmmaking, Craig drew from his background and has incorporated humor in almost every film project he has created.
